Friday nights in Boise are one of the best moments of the week to have a good time, either by yourself, with a group of friends, or on a date night. Don’t know what you want to do with your time? Check out these fun ideas for you to get started.
Go on an Overnight Ghost Hunt
The Old Idaho Penitentiary on the east side of Boise is one of the most historical buildings in town. It was opened in the year 1872, and it housed some of the most infamous felons in the western part of the United States. If you are wanting a taste of the paranormal, try spending time in Solitary Confinement, or you can adventure around the cell blocks. The Old Penitentiary also offers real paranormal investigations if you’re curious about that sort of thing. There are also other events all year-round that you can participate in. Visit the Bronco Stadium
During football season, many games are done on Friday nights. Grab a couple friends and cheer for the Boise State Broncos as they take on the opposing team. You can also take part in the Idaho Potato Bowl, which is a postseason football bowl game that has been held every year since the late 90’s. Get some tailgating gear together for a great party before and after the game!
Watch a Classic Film at the Egyptian Theater
The famous Egyptian Theater in downtown Boise opened in the 1920’s and is one of the last single-screen theaters left in this region. There are a number of events, including classic film nights, opera shows, concerts, lectures, premiers, and other types of festivals. The theater is also available for rent for the perfect spot to have a romantic date night. There are other places to watch movies, but nothing compares to this beautiful and classy theater.
Visit one of the Many Sports Pubs
There are many sports pubs in the Boise area. Some of the most popular sports pubs are Tom’s Grainey’s Sporting Pub (which hosts a variety of live music shows in three different parts of the pub), Taphouse, The Dutch Goose, Twin Peaks, and much more! Be sure to visit these whenever there’s a game on and bring some friends to have an even better time!
Go to an Event at the CenturyLink Arena
The CenturyLink Arena has approximately 5,000 seats in order to accommodate the most energetic of fans. Here, they watch hockey games, basketball games, enjoy concerts, or even witness a boxing match or two. Overall, it is an all-in-one venue for all sorts of events throughout the year. Buy tickets online or at the door for any event that you may be interested in. You’re sure to have a great time!
Have a Good Laugh
Feeling down and want some humor to cheer you up? Feel free to visit the Liquid Lounge which stands in what used to be the Funny Bone Comedy Club. It focuses on live music more than it does on comedy. However, in recent years, it has had a comedy resurgence. So, if you are in need of a pick-me-up or just like comedy, get ready to watch some great comedians and have a nice laugh. Some of the comedians who perform here are just starting out, so be sure to give them a good round of applause and show your support!
Dance the Night Away
One of the hottest (if not the hottest of all!) nightclubs in Boise is known as Neurolux. This particular club hosts a number of events including karaoke nights and DJ dance parties. Every so often, they may also host a poetry slam for those who want to share their work with the community. If you are looking to have the time of your life, or wanting to add something new and exciting to your daily schedule, the Neurolux is the place for you. Feel free to look for other fun nightclubs while you’re in the area!
See a Live Concert
One of the best places to view a concert is at The Knitting Factory Concert House. This music venue showcases live music every single week. It also offers food during the shows and boasts of a delicious menu (featuring onion rings, veggie wraps, finger steaks, chocolate chip cookies, and much more!). Most of the time, the venue hosts big-name bands such as the GooGoo Dolls, Aerosmith, Styx, Imagine Dragons, and many others! Be sure to look up tickets for future shows and have a memorable time!
Try Your Luck at an Escape Room
There are a couple of escape rooms in the Boise area. Boise Escape is a great way to spend a Friday night with friends or family. If you have never been to an escape room before, be prepared to be quick on your toes. You will only have a limited amount of time to escape the room, so be observant and use your smarts in order to win the game. You will have to make an appointment before you go, but it is definitely worth it!
Bowling at Emerald Lanes is probably one of the most fun activities on this list. Its clean environment, cheap prices, great food, and friendly staff help to make your night completely care-free! Play a game or two with some friends or go solo and work on your bowling skills. Either way, you are sure to have a fun experience.
If you want to have more options for a fun Friday night, be sure to ask the locals of Boise about where their favorite places are. Try any of these options and see if they are right for you! “We thought buying our first house would be complicated…with Mick’s help we found one we love. There were multiple offers and ours was the one they accepted because our he knew how to negotiate for us. The best experience ever!“
“…A.J. was just flawless, he had the best recommendations every step of the way to make sure we picked everything perfectly. I couldn’t have imagined a better buying experience, from the very first minute until after we moved in.”
“My family noticed right away how sharp the photos and brochures looked, loved the 3-D Tour of the floorplan. Brandi told us the “details mattered” and that it’s the most important thing when selling your home. Thank you for all the work up front to make going-on-the-market stress free and selling for full price.“
“…extremely confident in dealing with the terms and negotiations from beginning to end, including the selling price. I was very impressed with all the support. Actually did a video walk-through before coming to Idaho…would recommend Alei five stars to anyone looking for real estate in Eagle.“
“Dan handled all the work of listing our home…every single part, all we had to do is make the decisions on which offer to pick. We are extremely happy with Accel and the service provided to us in selling our home…the buyer found it online, loved the virtual tour, and made an offer.”
