Boise’s North End

Boise’s North End

Here’s Why It’s So Awesome!

If you’re looking to move into the Boise area, you’re probably wanting something that is affordable and close to entertainment, shopping, education, and work. The North End can be a fantastic option for meeting all of these criteria! So, what’s so great about the North End? Does it really have all of the things you’re looking for? Hopefully, this article will give you a few great reasons why this part of the city is the best place for you to live.

To give you an idea of where the North End of Boise is located, it is right across from the downtown area and the State Capitol Building. The North End also includes the foothills, so it provides the perfect view of the downtown area. The North End neighborhood is the perfect example of an American suburb: beautiful building stock; long, tree-lined streets; and the closeness of schools, parks, and other amenities. It is also considered one of Boise’s most desirable places to live!

Since the North End was first developed around the early 1900’s, many of the homes are much older than the modern houses spread throughout the rest of Boise. Because of this, they are among some of the most beautiful houses in the city. One of the streets located here, Harrison Boulevard, is covered with homes that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Another great part of the North End is Hyde Park, which is also in the same district as Camel’s Back Park, one of the more popular parks in Boise because of its great views of the downtown area! Because of its rich history, the North End is home to many of Old Boise’s historical landmarks. Click here to read all about them!

It may not look like it at first glance, but the Boise North End is actually one of the most affordable communities to live in, giving residents both a comfortable and quaint lifestyle while still being close to the downtown area. It also offers a cultural experience to residents unlike any other place in the city. The North End has also become one of the best locations for families, especially ones with college students since it is so close to Boise State University. Since it is near the downtown area, it can easily be navigated by driving, walking, or riding your bike! Within fifteen minutes of the North End, you will find the airport, a shopping mall, dozens of restaurants, and plenty of parks to walk around and enjoy nature. If you are planning on commuting, the easiest way to do so from the North End is by taking the Boise Connector.

Diving deeper into the culture of the Boise North End, those who live here will love the charming neighborhood and the small-town feel. Again, Hyde Park is a popular part of the area which consists of small shops, coffee shops, restaurants, and plenty of room for a number of annual events, such as the Hyde Park Street Fair. If you enjoys sports, there are plenty of opportunities for skiing, cycling, camping, canoeing, football, mountain biking, boating, golfing, and so much more! In the Boise North End, there are also hiking and biking paths that wind through the foothills. Within a thirty minute drive, you can also visit Bogus Basin Ski Resort to enjoy more skiing and mountain biking opportunities.

While this neighborhood is more laid-back than other areas of the city, there are still a lot of exciting things happening. There are a dozen places where you can get together with a bunch of friends, like breweries, wineries, espresso shops, etc. IF you’re looking to move to the North End, or Boise in general, you will also experience all four seasons which is perfect for multiple outdoor activities (and great photo opportunities, especially in the fall!). Because of this, you will need to be prepared for a bit of snow if you choose to move here. It is important to note that Boise is in a valley, so the weather is relatively mild, no matter what part of the city you’re in.

The North End is also ranked with a livability score of 83. There are lots of amenities which includes parks, stores, libraries, restaurants, and other entertainment options like theaters and concert venues. High school graduation rates are high and the crime rates are low. The North End also contains high income per capita, meaning plenty of job opportunities.

As you can see, the Boise North End is definitely a place to look into when it comes to finding the perfect area to live in the city. The North End is super close to the downtown area, meaning that there are plenty of opportunities to shop, hang out, play sports, and anything else that your heart desires. No matter where you go in this area, you will find yourself enjoying every moment of it. The seasons are beautiful and the scenery of the downtown area can’t be beat!
