Southeast Boise – A Treasure Valley Gem

Welcome to Southeast Boise – one of the Treasure Valley’s favorite neighborhoods for a number of reasons. “SE Boise” is one of the most desired areas in the city due to its closeness to the Downtown, BSU, Boise River, access to the foothills and all of the mountain trails. It is only a 10-minute drive to Lucky Peak Reservoir, where you can boat, waterski, wakeboard, picnic or go fishing. SE Boise also has easy access to the interstate highway and airport, Idaho Highway 21 and Federal Way, which was a previous U.S. Highway.

Micron Technology, one of the area’s largest employers has a campus in southeast Boise and has been responsible for much of the region’s growth over the last 20 years. Southeast Boise real estate features older areas, like those near BSU, as well as suburban housing and master-planned communities as you head further south away from downtown. Some of the first master-planned neighborhoods in Southeast Boise were Columbia Village (Near Simplot Field) and Oregon Trail Heights. These neighborhoods were built around schools with parks and trail access with recreation as a top priority. The Boise School District’s largest elementary school named Trail Wind is in Southeast Boise and currently rates a distinguished 9 out of 10 on and other school rating sites.

Some favorite Southeast Boise subdivisions and neighborhoods near the Boise River with Greenbelt access are Barber Point, Bown Crossing, Columbia Village, East Meadow Woods, East Valley, Lakewood, Nature’s Woodduck, Painted Ridge, Pier Point, Promontory Point, River Run, Silverado Ranch, Solaire, Spring Meadow, Sunny Ridge, Surprise Valley, and anywhere around Boise State University.

As downtown Boise continues to grow, the homes in Southeast Boise become more valuable and because of their close distance to the river and foothills, they will always be popular with locals and newcomers alike!
